  1. children are arranged in a circle and pass around a ball while music plays
  2. once the music stops, the child with the ball earns a point
  3. first to 5 points wins

Adaptations for Wheelchair Users:

Children who are using wheelchairs can participate in this game by joining the circle in their wheelchair.

Modifications to make the activity easier:

Change the environment: have the children sit closer together to decrease physical and cognitive demand

Change the equipment: use a bigger ball to decrease physical and cognitive demand

Modifications to make the activity harder:

Change the environment: increase the space between children to increase physical and cognitive demand

Change the task: have children pass the ball across the circle to increase physical and cognitive demand

Goal examples:

  • the child can accurately pass the ball 8 out of 10 times from 2m away
  • I can show that I am ready to catch the ball before it is thrown
