Coaches Training for KidsAction
This online course takes up to 2 hours to complete, and aims to help coaches learn about:
- The benefits of physical activity for children with neurodevelopmental and/or intellectual disability (NDID) and how the KidsAction approach can be used to support children’s physical literacy development.
- The core components of KidsAction, and how coaches can use the KidsAction approach to enhance physical activity coaching for children with NDID. This includes tips on managing behavioural issues common to many children with NDID.
- The importance of social interaction within physical activities for children with NDID, and ways that coaches can support social connections during physical activities. Coaches will also learn about the importance of promoting social connections among families and suggestions for fostering these relationships.
- How inclusive approaches and Indigenous culturally appropriate practices can support families’ participation, including tips on building these practices into coaching
