Modifications to make the activity easier:
Change the equipment: give the child a handrail to use for balance to decrease physical demand
Change the task: have the child practice jumping up in the air without a step to decrease physical demand
Modifications to make the activity harder:
Change the task:
- increase number of jumps for the child to complete the activity to increase physical and cognitive demand
- time how many jumps child can do within a certain timeframe to increase physical demand
Goal examples:
- the child will be able to jump on and off the stair, while holding onto the railing for 1 minute without stopping
- I can jump up the stairs
