Change the task: have the child strike the ball into the hoop from a closer distance to decrease physical and social demand

Modifications to make the activity harder:

Change the equipment:

  • give the child a bat or stick to strike the ball with to increase physical demand
  • use a smaller hoop as the target for the child to increase physical and cognitive demand

Change the task: have the child wait for their partner to strike the ball 7 times to increase social demand

Goal examples:

  • the child is able to strike the ball into the hoop when it is their turn, 3 out of 5 times
  • I can take turns with my friends.
