  • 3 coloured hula hoops, buckets, or baskets
  • 3 coloured pylons
  • bean bags

Description:

  1. set up 3 hula hoops/buckets/baskets of three different colours at three different distances with a corresponding colour pylon (3-5m away)
  2. children aim to under-hand throw the bean bag into the hoop of the same colour as the pylon by which they are standing

Change the environment: decrease the distance between the child and the hoop/bucket/basket to decrease physical demand

Change the task: have the child use two hands to decrease physical demand

Change the environment: increase the distance between child and bucket to increase physical demand

Change the equipment: increase the number of buckets to increase physical and cognitive demand

Goal examples:

  • the child will be able to accurately toss a bean bag into the hoop/bucket/basket placed 3m away, 4 out of 5 times
  • I can throw the bean bags into the correct buckets
