Modifications to make the activity easier:

Change the environment:

  • blow bubbles slowly to decrease cognitive demand
  • blow bubbles higher so child has more time to catch them to decrease physical and cognitive demand

Modifications to make the activity harder:

Change the environment:

  • blow more bubbles to increase the number of bubbles for the child to catch to increase cognitive demand
  • blow bubbles more quickly to increase the number of bubbles for the child to catch to increase physical demand

Goal examples:

  • child shows readiness to trap/catch bubbles (e.g., moving towards the bubbles, tracking them with their eyes, clapping hands together) about 75% of the time during 5 min of play
  • I can catch the bubbles in my hands
