Modifications to make the activity easier:
Change the task: throw the ball directly to the chest of the child to decrease physical and cognitive demand
Change the equipment: use a larger, lighter ball to decrease physical demand
Modifications to make the activity harder:
Change the task: do not throw directly to the child’s hands so that the child has to anticipate and move towards the ball to increase physical and cognitive demand
Change the equipment: use a smaller ball to increase physical and cognitive demand
Goal examples:
- the child is able to catch a medium-sized ball, 8 out of 10 times
- I can show that I am ready to catch the ball
